Dear friends,
enclosed you will find information about the new event program for professionals of Jazz-Tanztheater Berlin, which will be launched in April 2013. First dates are: 26., 27. and April 28, 2013.
This is a diverse and multi-talented group of teachers and choreographers from Berlin, New York, London and Edinburgh; this highly talented group of teachers/choreographers includes Robert Solomon, Edsel Scott, Carmen Schall, Chizu Kimura, Peggy Constantin, Vlademir Gelvan, Theresa Diehl, Olegs Sihranovs and Mark Headley among others.
The goal of the founded center is to create an optimal atmosphere and to bring together all talented dancers interested in performing in Berlin after extensive workshops and professional courses – which include different styles, ethos and processes. The goal is to create a company that will take its place in the dance scene of Berlin.
Our goal is to work every Friday, Saturday and Sunday offering courses for the professionals of Berlin. Due to professional commitments of the lecturers outside Berlin, the center will be open on different evenings and afternoons. This allows you to work with different teachers on your technique while preparing for future choreographic challenges.
The main component of this planning is to create a company of dancers with a repertoire invented by the choreographic center. This makes it possible to organize smaller tours within Germany where the dancers can be seen, and the interest of other companies from all over Germany can be aroused. As a result, you will be judged as an artist on stage instead of being looked at like a common auditioner.
We would also like to consider the possibility of using new media technologies to create DVDs of the dancers’ work on stage as well as during rehearsals. The dancers can then use these DVDs to market and present themselves by being seen in a work situation that can serve a future placement or contract.
The young, professional dancers should have completed training in contemporary dance and/or classical dance. Possess the ability to combine techniques such as modern dance , jazz, improvisation, classical dance naturally and organically, thus embodying the different dance styles as a necessary unity in itself. The result, is the special atmosphere of artistic expression at the highest level, with the aim of public stage presentation. Minimum age: 18 years
