Stage dance presentation and art of choreography
This special dance presentation gives the popular and experienced participants of the Jazz Dance Theater / Placement the opportunity to present themselves as stage dancers. They are the focus of these dance presentations as soloists and dancers.
Robert Solomon developed the choreographies in close collaboration with the participants, teachers and dancers. The basis of the choreographies is the concept that every movement has its own statement and story. The art is to see this statement and to shape it dramaturgically in space and with music. Robert Solomon likes to work without predefined concepts, just with the body of the dancers and the will to create something.
An example of how Peggy Constantin’s choreographic work came about: Robert suggested she put together a classical dance phrase. The composition develops from this phrase. Robert Solomon developed an entrance sequence, a middle section and an end sequence for this, uniting Peggy Constantin’s phrase and her classical movement repertoire.
With each dancer a different situation and a different possibility of creation arises, depending on the personality of the individual. Decisive for this is the perception of the individual personality in connection with the movement design.
