Dear friends,
please find enclosed information from Placement Berlin about the new professional programme of events that springs into life in April 2013. The upcoming shows are on the 26th, 27th and 28th of April 2013.

Drawing together a diverse and multi talented group of teachers and choreographers from Berlin, New York, London and Edinburgh, this highly talented group of teachers/choreographers includes Robert Solomon, Edsel Scott, Carmen Schall, Chizu Kimura, Peggy Constantin, Vlademir Gelvan, Theresa Diehl, Olegs Sihranovs and Mark Headley.
The aim of the created faculty is to create an environment of excellence and to bring together all the talented dancers in Berlin who are interested in working towards creating a company, after an extensive period of workshops and professional classes with different styles, ethos and process all brought together to produce a company that will take its place within the dance scene in Berlin.

We aim to work every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday providing classes for the professionals of Berlin. The faculty will rotate on different nights and afternoons due to professional engagements outside of Berlin which allows you the chance to work on your technique with different teachers as you prepare yourself for the choreographic challenge ahead.

Fundamentally at the core of this planning is to create a company of dancers with a repertoire created by the choreographic faculty which will be able to undertake small tours in Germany, allowing the dancers to be seen in a company situation, which will attract other companies throughout Germany, whereby you will be judged on stage as an artist rather than just turning up and being another audition.

We would also like to look at the possibility of using new media technologies to create DVDs of both the dancer’s work on stage and in rehearsal as a way of being able use these edited DVDs to promote and present yourself, being seen in a working situation which will go towards securing a placement or a contract in the future.
